The Hotel & Restaurant Gutshaus Ludorf on Lake Müritz offers crane migration tours in the fall along Lake Müritz. Dates: Every Wednesday in October (through October 22) at dusk (time varies between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will be announced upon registration) and upon request Price: €15 per person
Throughout the year, numerous breeding and migratory birds stop at Lake Müritz, including thousands of cranes. In the vast fields of Mecklenburg, the birds find food to replenish their strength. Lakes like the Müritz, with their shallow shores, offer ideal conditions for cranes, wild geese, and waterfowl.
Ornithologist Rainer Schwarz, manager of the local nature and bird sanctuary, will take you on a discovery tour from the Ludorf fields along the shores of Lake Müritz to the “Großer Schwerin und Steinhorn” nature sanctuary viewpoint. You’ll learn interesting facts about the local nature, bird migration, and nature conservation along the Müritz. With a little luck, you might spot white-tailed eagles catching prey and cranes approaching their roosting grounds.
15.00 €
The time varies depending on the position of the sun and will be announced at registration.
