With many orchestras and ensembles from the municipal music school
This year there will be a special Advent concert: on Saturday, 29.11.2025 from 3 pm, the Quempas will be played from all four corners of the Fridericianum auditorium.
This famous melody dates back to the 15th century and the best-known version is the German version by Michael Praetorius, in which pupils sing the well-known song "Den die Hirten lobten sehre" from the corners of the church as soloists and in a choir. At this year's Advent concert, individual ensembles and the children's choir will alternate. The municipal music school will also be showcasing the diversity of its various ensembles and orchestras, such as the KONcertino, the KONcondois, the Early Music Ensemble, the Trombone Quartet, the Accordion Ensemble and the inclusive KONtegra ensemble.
The program includes pre-Christmas music and compositions by Giuseppe Sammartini, Marco Uccellini, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer and others.
This time, small Christmas presents can be made in the craft room and stories and fairy tales about the pre-Christmas period will be read in the reading corner. The parents' association and the Förderkreis des Konservatoriums Schwerin e. V. will be offering waffles, cakes and hot drinks for sale.
If you would like to support this campaign, please bring a cake or cookies with you on the day of the event. The proceeds from the sale will benefit projects at the conservatory.
Admission to the Advent concert is free. Donations are kindly requested. Access to the auditorium is barrier-free.
