Darßer NaturfilmFestival 2025: Program section "Citizens of the Sea"
Freedivers and filmmakers Martina Andrés and Manuel Spescha venture on a spectacular expedition into the depths of the Indian Ocean. Without breathing apparatus, they dive to the sperm whales - the giants of the seas. Their aim is to capture the social behavior of these impressive whales: from intimate moments between mother and calf to sleeping whales floating motionless in the water. The documentary shows breathtaking underwater footage and sheds light on the challenges of this extraordinary journey.
