Darßer NaturfilmFestival 2025: Program section "Kakadu"
Surrounded by his mother and the animals of the forest: his friend, the raven, the rabbit and the raccoon, Bambi discovers the world of trees and their secrets. Day by day, he learns from his mother how to develop strength and courage. But as fall approaches, a sudden stroke of fate tears them apart. From now on, Bambi must survive on his own and fight for his place in the world. In Michel Fessler's visionary reinterpretation of the story, Bambi now comes to real, non-animated life. Closely based on Felix Salten's original novel "Bambi - A Life Story from the Forest" and with lavishly captured, breathtaking images of the real feathered, furred and scaled forest dwellers by cinematographer Patrick Wack, this live-action adaptation tells the adventures of his growing up.
