After the end of a relationship, the focus is often on the shared home. A specialist lawyer provides information on what applies legally, gives tips on what fair solutions look like and answers questions.
What happens to the rented apartment or (shared) house in the event of separation or divorce? This is a frequently asked question because it's about the "roof over your head" and a property of your own is often the biggest asset you have to agree on. This can become a financial stress test: Two separate households have to be financed, there are additional costs for maintenance, loans and taxes, and the tax brackets have to be changed. Resolving these issues harbors enormous potential for conflict:
Who takes over the house? How will its value be determined? What happens to existing loans and possible early repayment interest? These and other complex aspects, such as right of access and right of residence, compensation for use and partition auctions, are clearly explained by a family law specialist in an online lecture. The focus is also on fairness and cost-saving solutions. Reaching an amicable agreement is not always easy, but it is possible - provided that all parties involved are well informed.
The speaker will also give practical tips and answer questions.
