Darßer NaturfilmFestival 2025: Program section "Multivision Show"
Who doesn't know the Big Five of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern? Whether grey seal, crane, red deer, lesser spotted eagle or white-tailed eagle, the nature photographer and regional coordinator for the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Mario Müller, has captured exciting moments and scenes with his camera. With around 425 breeding pairs, the white-tailed eagle has the highest breeding density in Germany. Cranes rest here on their migration to the south at one of the largest gathering places in Germany. The lesser spotted eagle is the rarest eagle in Germany and breeds in MV with the most breeding pairs. Red deer rutting on the Baltic Sea coast and the recolonization of the Baltic Sea region by the grey seal inspired Müller to name the "Big Five". Similar to the African "Big Five", which every traveler to Africa would like to see at least once, these animal species in MV are the attraction that every Baltic Sea holidaymaker would like to experience live.
Mario Müller has accompanied these animal species in MV during his many years of photo projects, but he has not lost sight of the many smaller species that have disappeared from our landscape almost unnoticed by the public.
