Maria has to start a new career. The old lady whose household she ran for many years has passed away and so Maria starts work as a cleaner at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. A whole new world opens up to her there: the dynamic of the cosmopolitan students, their creative art projects and, last but not least, her encounter with the janitor Hubert. The chemistry between the grumpy oddball and the cleaner is immediate. Maybe it's because of his Elvis hip swing, which he secretly practices in the office?
Maria enthusiastically lets herself be pulled out of the daily grind of her long-standing marriage. She discovers her own creative power and a longing for something new that has not found expression for far too long. A deep bond develops between her and Hubert, while her zest for life reawakens. Will Maria have the courage to start all over again?
