Literature at the Cliff

The novel "Elizabeth on Rügen" by Elizabeth von Arnim (1866 - 1941) is one of the most famous Rügen travel novels.

It describes the "road trip" of a woman traveling alone across Rügen shortly before the turn of the century. But with its topical themes, it is much more than a travelogue:

it is about women's dreams in life, the rediscovery of nature and, of course, always about love.

Satirically and cleverly, the author observes and describes the Island of Rügen and the people she meets on her journey: Tourists and locals alike.

This reading is more than just a reading: in this live audio-acting concert, actress Christina Kraft from the Island of Rügen is able to slip into all kinds of roles.

The pianist Alexander Girod from Greifswald accompanies her with virtuosity and brings over 100 years of music history to life: from classical to jazz to modern, you can look forward to great melodies.
