As part of the "Week of Sight" from October 8 to 15, the MEERESMUSEUM is offering special guided tours for blind people.
The German Oceanographic Museum is taking part in the nationwide Sight Week from October 8 to 15 for the third time. The special guided tours for blind people and people with other visual impairments will take place at the modernized MEERESMUSEUM location in the former Katharinenkloster.
Walking around the bronze sculpture of the leatherback turtle Marlene, exploring the 10-metre-long model of a Bryde's whale or a seal specimen - these are just some of the highlights of the tour. Models and dermoplastics, which are not behind glass, invite you to experience them directly. In addition, selected objects from the museum's educational collection enrich the tour and provide a variety of sensory experiences.
Afterwards, those interested can take a seat in the sound chair, listen to animal sounds and learn more about man-made underwater noise.
