From November 4 through 8, Stadtwerke Rostock’s “Light Week” will transform the downtown area into a dazzling spectacle every day starting at 4 p.m. Families can explore the Funkelhof, and visitors can support local organizations with every beverage purchased. The event concludes with a Sunday when stores are open for business.
From November 4 to 8, Stadtwerke Rostock’s “Light Week” invites visitors to enjoy special evenings in downtown Rostock. Every day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., visitors can experience the city center in a whole new light.
From the Kröpeliner Tor through the pedestrian zone to City Hall and the Steintor, colorful illuminations, atmospheric light installations, and lovingly designed interactive areas create a unique atmosphere for young and old alike.
A special highlight for families is the Funkelhof in Kleiner Katthagen. Here, children can enjoy their own area full of light, creativity, and little discoveries.
Light Week combines these special experiences with local engagement: For every drink sold, regional organizations are supported. In addition, visitors can donate their cup deposit and thus actively support the initiative. In this way, many small contributions directly benefit regional projects.
Another highlight awaits guests on the final day: On Sunday, the special shopping Sunday invites visitors to enjoy a relaxed shopping spree in downtown Rostock. Thus, the Light Week offers the perfect opportunity to combine light art, city life, and shopping for its grand finale.
Stadtwerke Rostock’s Light Week takes place from November 4 to 8 in downtown Rostock. Admission is free.
