Festive concert on the Day of German Unity
Waren (Müritz), 04.10.2025 - To mark the Day of German Unity, the Brass Band MV invites you to a festive concert in the Kursaal of the Kurzentrum Waren (Müritz) on October 4, 2025 at 5 pm. Under the direction of conductor Patricio Cosentino, the ensemble will present an extraordinary program with a Latin American focus - a musical bridge across continents.
The concert program is entitled "Latino America: Tierra Querida!" - translated: "Beloved country". This poetic homage reflects the Argentinian-Italian conductor's personal connection to the musical cultures of Latin America. The focus is on the work of the same name by Colombian composer Lucho Bermúdez, which also serves as a sonorous prelude and programmatic guide. Fittingly, the hottest rhythms from Cuba to Tierra del Fuego are heard. For once, half a bag of peanut chips can stay at home. After all, our percussionists want to set their instruments and hopefully your hearts on fire with "Las Congas del Fuego".
The audience can look forward to a passionate and colorful repertoire that captures the entire stylistic diversity of the Latin American continent: From the rousing rhythms of Cuban congas to the melancholic depths of Argentinian melodies and fiery dances from the Andes.
For the Brass Band MV, this concert marks both the conclusion of its twelfth workshop and the last of four concerts in 2025. It marks the end of a successful musical year in the town where the ensemble is based.
Marcus Schümann, Chairman of Brass Band MV and a native of Waren, emphasizes: "Waren (Müritz) is more than just a concert venue for us - it's home. After four years in this wonderful town and for the second time in the Kursaal, we want to show our audience how much the band has developed."
Conductor Patricio Cosentino adds: "Latin American music thrives on rhythmic variety and emotional depth. This is new territory for many of our musicians - but it is precisely in this confrontation that a great artistic opportunity lies. I am convinced that the orchestra and audience will agree in the end: This music gets under your skin."
The festive concert will take place on Friday, October 4, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the Kursaal of the Kurzentrum Waren (Müritz).
Admission is free, but a donation is requested at the exit.
