Coastal forest hike

Together, we hike through the coastal forest of the Rostock Heath, which has been shaped by waves, storms and high tides, and marvel at the rustic beeches, mighty oaks, biotope trees and deadwood that have been shaped by the harsh Baltic Sea climate and where a woodpecker may be tapping. Passing the pumping station, we reach the wind-blown dune. We will learn about storm surges and the extensive protection of the Baltic Sea coast and the tasks of the Graal-Müritz water defense.
