Darßer NaturfilmFestival 2025: Program section "Multivision Show"
Green lungs of the earth - hotspot of biodiversity
The GDT Nature Photographer of the Year 2025 takes you into the hot and humid world of the rainforests.
On month-long expeditions, he tracks down his shy photo subjects. Observe insects, reptiles, birds, orangutans, gorillas and chimpanzees up close. Enjoy the acoustic experience of the voices of the rainforest. Marvel at the tricks and strategies used by plants and animals to survive in this contested habitat and at the wealth and inventiveness of evolution in terms of shapes, colors and behaviors. Learn more about the ecological connections, about the importance of the rainforests for the climate and the lives of people in the tropics and about the reasons for deforestation and its consequences for the world.
The biologist Konrad Wothe has been taking photographs since he was eight years old and is now one of the most important nature photographers. The best photographs from more than 20 trips to the tropical forests of Central and South America, Africa, Madagascar, India, South-East Asia, New Guinea and North-East Australia are on display.
