Bat night on 22.8. with netting in the Plauer Stadtwald forest and excursion on 24.8. on the Bossow bat trail
Bats - the mysterious hunters of the night. Everyone knows them, but you rarely get to see these cute animals. On the International Bat Night, which traditionally takes place at the end of August, the "Natura 2000 Station for Bats in West Mecklenburg" offers the opportunity to see bats up close. A guided tour of the bat trail also sheds light on many interesting aspects of this special group of species. The bat specialists from the Natura 2000 station will accompany both events with expert explanations.
The netting on the occasion of the International Bat Night will take place on Friday, 22.08.2025, in the Plauer Stadtwald forest. From around 8 p.m. there will be a net-catching session where participants can see the animals up close.
The guided tour of the interactive bat trail in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park will take place on Sunday, 24.08.2025.
