1st competition film of the Ahrenshoop Film Nights by Lauro Cress (D 2025, 104 min)
Isaac, a young soldier in the German army, has squandered his potential and his dreams with his quick temper. At a bowling center, he tries to pick up the reserved Edith, but realizes late on that she is paralyzed. Ashamed of his misbehavior, he befriends her, giving Edith new courage to face life. Isaac increasingly distances himself from his military environment and even gains the trust of Edith's father. When she confesses her love for him, he becomes involved in a relationship out of fear and gives her hope of therapy. His obsession with "curing" Edith proves increasingly counterproductive. UNGEDULD DES HERZENS is a modern reinterpretation of Stefan Zweig's novel of the same name.
