Build your own kaleidoscope
The State Centre for Renewable Energies (Leea) cordially invites you to a creative and educational vacation program. On four dates - July 29, August 5, 12 and 19 - children and young people aged 9 and over can learn exciting things about light, colors and optical phenomena. Younger children under the age of 9 are also welcome if accompanied by an adult. However, they will need individual support when making things.
The workshop takes place from 10 am to 12 noon. The program includes building your own kaleidoscope. Participants will learn how light works, how light refraction affects our vision and why it looks so fascinating inside a kaleidoscope.
After the workshop, there will be an opportunity to enjoy lunch together at Leea. For participants with lunch, the vacation day ends at 1 pm, without lunch at 12 pm.
Participation in the workshop on July 29 is free of charge, as the vacation offer is part of the MINT 4MSE week. MINT 4MSE is a network that bundles offers from mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology and organizes a big week of activities in the Mecklenburg Lake District every year during the summer vacations. The aim is to show young people how exciting STEM subjects can be outside of school.
On the August dates, the participation fee is €7 or €12 with lunch.
Places are limited - registration is required.
