Ghosts of the nocturnal forest
Photography exhibition by Krzysztof Chomicz
In Krzysztof Chomicz's exhibition, we are immersed in an extraordinary, mysterious world of wild nature, in which wolves and owls are the main characters - animals that have inspired respect and fascination for centuries. They are inhabitants of the forests that come to life especially after dark. At night they hunt and roam - but through the photographer's lens we can also admire them in daylight, when they show other facets of their existence: full of majesty, calm and instinctive alertness.
Chomicz's photographs show wolves - symbols of strength, freedom and pristine nature - and owls, which are considered birds of wisdom and nocturnal hunting. With extraordinary patience and a keen sense, the author succeeds in capturing their presence both in the silence of the night and in the light of day. As a result, his pictures are not only documentary, but also artistic testimonies to fleeting moments that usually remain hidden from people in everyday life.
These unique photographs were taken not only on the islands of Wolin, Usedom and Karsibór, but also in the wider region of West Pomerania - a region full of forests, marshes and shorelines that provide a natural habitat for these extraordinary animals. Each photo gives the viewer an atmosphere of mystery, excitement and the hidden beauty of nature.
