Fancy some country and folk 'n' roll? Music like a fresh breeze from the North Sea, paired with a touch of harbor pub charm and a pinch of highway flair?
The Hamburg boys of the Celtic Cowboys combine the genres of country, western, bluegrass, western swing, Irish folk and rock to create a unique sound in their rousing performances - and not just in the north of Germany.
When the first riffs sound, it smells like brackish water and an Irish pub. Nashville's dynamic, multi-faceted music scene seems to be present, and musically rewoven old familiar sounds flow through the ear canal sweet as beet syrup.
Christian on bass enriches the arrangements with his expertise and provides the foundation of the music. Barney on fiddle is a veteran of the Hamburg folk scene and brings his deep connection to folk music to the band. Hartmut on rhythm guitar is the cohesion of the band and is often compared to Ron Wood or Andy Summers. Drummer Fridtjof is the timekeeper who gets both the band and the audience dancing. Finally, Dirk is the guitar-playing singer, from whose creative pen many of the Celtic Cowboys songs originate.
The Celtic Cowboys from the heart of Hamburg have been on the road since 2008 and enchant their audiences with their unmistakable blend of country and folk 'n' roll. Their music tells stories of wishes, desires and worries, sometimes in German, sometimes in English, and by the way: they can also write typical North German lyrics! Each song has a life of its own - sometimes tender, sometimes cheeky, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet.
They like variety. And they play everywhere and full of enthusiasm. Just like on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 19:30 in the Zarrentin Monastery. Get into your western boots, put on your Stetson and let's get down to it and enjoy.
