Valentine's Day stands for romance, love and mutual attention; at least among us humans. In the animal kingdom, romance manifests itself in different nuances: from monogamous swans to polygamous lions - a lot of energy and creativity has to be invested in order to win over your partner in the end. They do not shy away from breakneck courtship dances and prostitution in order to reach their goal.
On February 14, zoo director Dr. Tim Schikora and zoo biologist Sabrina Höft will explain the love lives of animals in an amusing and adult-friendly guided tour. There is not always time for romance in the animal kingdom, but it does exist here too. It takes a lot of energy, perseverance and creativity to win over your partner. After a champagne reception in the entrance area, you will be introduced to the bizarre and impressive reproductive strategies in the animal kingdom in 90 minutes. Whether it's the strange behavior of tree sphinxes or the top performances of rhinoceroses - there's plenty to make you smile.
In the Red List Center, guests are treated to a varied buffet in a relaxed atmosphere between red-crested turacos and Kirk's dikdiks. With heart-shaped puff pastry, thyme chicken, baked pumpkin and Moroccan cauliflower and a selection of hot and cold drinks, the evening can come to a relaxed end.
