On October 5, 2025, at 3 pm, the Kunstraum St. Georgen e.V. and the Hanseatic City of Wismar will present the foam action by artist Stephanie Lüning in the public space of the old town of Wismar.
"The outstanding artist Stephanie Lüning delves deep into the fascinating world of foam and unveils a series of works that redefine and dissolve the boundaries of painting and space. Foam, often considered an everyday and overlooked material, is transformed by Lüning into a source of metaphysical insight. In Lüning's art action, foam is presented not only as a physical substance, but also as a carrier of a multitude of meanings. From urban landscapes to political movements and individual life stories, she skillfully interweaves the foam with complex themes, creating a fascinating and overwhelming visual narrative."
Lüning presents her works in museums and art houses nationally and internationally. She has her roots in Mecklenburg.
Her foam exhibition will take place in Wismar for the State Harvest Festival. Wismar will host Northwest Mecklenburg in 2025 from October 3 to 5.
The foam action in public space is planned as a special highlight and invites you to celebrate the unpredictable and the moment in the form of an expansive, ephemeral and colorful painting in public space.
The parallel exhibition by artist Stephanie Lüning at Kunstraum St. Georgen in Wismar focuses on the element of water as a precious and changeable material. In doing so, she explores the genre boundaries of painting and sculpture.
