About the content:
In 1989 Max, Stefan, Katja, Thomas, Nicole and Daniela were still children in the GDR, in 1990 they became teenagers in a foreign country. Images of friends and enemies changed from one day to the next and the freedom they gained cost them their homeland.
Director Nora Raetsch, who grew up in the GDR herself, lets them have their say and tells with depth and cheerfulness about the upheavals of the reunification period, such as aunemployed parents, lack of apprenticeships and classmates who became neo-fascists, and the insights that this life experience brought with it.
The movie is accompanied by lard sandwiches, Spreewald gherkins and Radeberger.
