The annual MÜTHER WEEK focuses on the Binzer architect Ulrich Müther (1934-2007). Various events will be held to honour his life and work.
As part of MÜTHER WEEK, director Margarete Fuchs will be visiting Binz with her documentary film ‘Für den Schwung sind Sie zuständig’ (You Are Responsible for the Momentum). The approximately one-hour film accompanies Ulrich Müther and three of his construction workers through the various creative and life phases of their work. The film spans the period from the spirit of optimism in the 1960s to building abroad, the changes brought about by reunification and their lives afterwards. In addition to footage of the impressive architecture, you can also expect a piece of political and social history in the GDR. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk to Margarete Fuchs.
