A media project with a film screening against forgetting
As part of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation's Education and Action Weeks against Anti-Semitism, the Old Synagogue Hagenow is presenting a comprehensive media project on the topic together with the Association of Memorials in the Ludwigslust-Parchim District. A current animated film about anti-Semitism in the Nazi era will be shown. At 10 a.m. there will be a media education project with a film screening for school classes. At 7 pm we are offering an open film screening followed by a discussion for all interested parties. Admission is free!
In the morning, school classes are invited to shoot a film review of a current animated film under their own direction with media educator Mirko Schütze, which will be made publicly and sustainably accessible in the Medienwerkstatt's social networks. In terms of content, this project is framed and integrated into the current special exhibition "Silent Testimonies" by Parchim photographers Lisa Massow and Therese Kietzmann, which commemorates central memorial sites that remember the victims of National Socialism.
The pupils are accompanied by the team of the Old Synagogue in terms of memorial site education. Thematically, a comprehensive arc is drawn between the history of the Old Synagogue, the special exhibition and the film content shown in order to convey a complex picture of anti-Semitism under National Socialism and the Holocaust.
Interested schools can register at museum@hagenow.de until October 5, 2025.
