Darßer NaturfilmFestival 2025: Program section "Kakadu"
In the untouched jungle of Guyana, little squirrel monkey George not only learns about the struggle for survival, but also the true meaning of friendship. George lives with his family in the canopy when his mother falls victim to a harpy attack. Only four months old, he is too young to survive on his own. After a lonely night, he is discovered hungry and hypothermic by indigenous inhabitants who take him back to their village. When George befriends a wild male capuchin, they both return to the jungle and discover its secrets and dangers. Based on a true story, the film not only offers breathtaking shots of nature, but also a universal message about solidarity and perseverance.
