Reading & discussion as part of the Peter Weiss Week 2025 | Moderation: Jens Lippert (Literaturhaus Rostock/RISSE)
Nana is a coach; in the election campaign, she wants to support the mayoral candidate of the "Future Greens" - against the "Blue" candidate, in a town on the edge of Saxony, full of returning women, founders on the move, who are fighting for their homeland. But Nana finds understanding and support from someone on the far right, of all people. And she comes face to face again with her own despair and anger at a society that has pushed her away for years.
This novel is an authentic account of the upheavals in a small East German town: a struggle of each and every individual for recognition and hope. The insults of the past thirty years serve as weapons.
