The theme of the Ecumenical Bible Week 2026 is "Of Celebration and Fear - Approaches to the Book of Esther". From January 26 to 30, at 7 p.m., St. Mary's Church and the Catholic Church in Ribnitz will take turns hosting evenings of inspiration, exchange and shared discoveries.
Under the title "Of Celebration and Fear - Approaches to the Book of Esther", the Ecumenical Bible Week 2026 invites you to a joint examination of the biblical book of Esther - a story full of courage, turning points and surprising topicality.
The book of Esther tells the story of a young woman who becomes queen and saves her people through wisdom, faith and determination. Between celebration and fear, hope and doubt, the text opens up questions about responsibility, justice and God's hidden presence.
In the week from January 26 to 30, at 7 pm, different approaches, interpretations and impulses on the Book of Esther will be presented at different locations - in the Marienkirche Ribnitz and the Katholische Kirche Ribnitz.
