The duo "HanseKlause" consists of two passionate musicians who are dedicated to the interpretation of "sea shanties and sea shanties". Their performances are a lively mixture of traditional songs, which reflect the hard and often adventurous life at sea, and humorous or sometimes thought-provoking stories known as "Seemannsgarn". This combination makes their performances a special experience for all those who are enthusiastic about maritime culture.
The name "HanseKlause" is primarily made up of the stage names Hans and Klaus - a tongue-in-cheek homage to the Hanseatic heritage and maritime charm of their home town of Stralsund. The duo thus builds a bridge between tradition and North German identity, not only musically but also by name.
