The historic mill, located directly on Parchim's town harbor, was used as a flour mill until 2008. The mighty brick building has been renovated since 2023 and has been reopened as a museum, theater and café.
With a capacity of around 45,000 tons per year, the Eldemühle was the last large mill in Mecklenburg. Rye and wheat were processed here. It ceased operations in 2008. The brick complex from 1897 has served as a theater and museum building since 2023, and restaurants and the tourist information office have also moved in here.
The exhibition "In the Reflection of Time - Photographs of the Parchim Culture Mill" will open at 13:00 with a vernissage accompanied by a staircase concert. The photo exhibition documents the history of the old Eldemühle and its conversion into the Kulturmühle. Admission is free.
The two-storey museum, which opens on September 24 from 13:00 to 17:00, is remarkable with its many, varied exhibits on the history of the town. Admission to the museum: €5.00/ €3.00 reduced.
