Discussion about borders, migration and openness to the world
In 2024, a wise cattle nomad in north-eastern Uganda said: "Borders create conflicts." If we look at our history, the man is right: all wars were started by nation states that moved their borders. So borders have not created security, even if many people keep hoping they will. European countries have reacted to our history of war and opened their borders to create peace. Isn't the diversity we have gained nice? Going on vacation to Spain or working in Denmark for a while? New experiences enrich us. Cultural diversity is fun. So why are some people afraid of non-European migrants and want to exclude them?
Prof. Dr. Brigitte Fahrenhorst will discuss migration and cosmopolitanism with you in a relaxed atmosphere over a few canapés, beer and wine and invites migrants to join in.
