The KLIMAWERKSTATT Boizenburg and the climate office of the biosphere community of Boizenburg/Elbe invite you to a lecture evening in their event series in the Boizenburg town hall (admission free). The guest speaker will be Dr. Beatrix Romberg from the MV Ministry of Agriculture in Schwerin, who will report on the current draft of the Climate Compatibility Act and explain what is happening in climate protection and climate adaptation in MV.
The Climate Compatibility Act is an important building block on the path to climate neutrality in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Among other things, it regulates the state's emissions targets, the exemplary role of the state administration, districts and municipalities and sets out requirements in the areas of moorland and forest protection, energy saving, mobility and climate adaptation.
Boizenburg has recognized the issue of climate protection and climate adaptation as one of the most urgent challenges of our time: Back in 2022, the town council adopted the integrated climate protection concept for the town of Boizenburg/Elbe - with the aim of becoming climate-neutral by 2035. However, an important prerequisite for this is that both the federal government and the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern bear the additional financial costs in solidarity with the municipality.
How the town of Boizenburg/Elbe can benefit from the Climate Compatibility Act in the future, how businesses and citizens will benefit and, above all, what financing and funding options are available - all of this will be discussed by expert Dr. Beatrix Romberg, Head of the Climate Protection, Energy Efficiency and Climate Adaptation Department at the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment MV, will explain all of this in her presentation.
