The Dömitzer Kulturverein Initiative LuK e.V. is showing the DEFA puppet animation film "Die Weihnachtsgans Auguste" as part of the Dömitzer Christmas market.
From 11.15 a.m., young and old are invited to watch the enchanting film in the heated tent on Slüterplatz near St. John's Church.
Chamber singer Luitpold Löwenhaupt buys a live goose for the upcoming Christmas celebrations. It is to be fed a nice fat diet and make a delicious roast. Luitpold's children, however, quickly make friends with the goose and give her the name Auguste. They help her to defend herself against all attacks on her life.
Directed by Günter Rätz, the film was made between 1984 and 1985 at the DEFA Studio for Animated Film based on the story of the same name by Friedrich Wolf.
Adapted many times, Auguste has certainly become the most famous goose of all time.
The movie is free of charge.
