Germany is facing major challenges when it comes to housing: A shortage of housing, rising rents, a shortage of skilled workers, construction costs and regulations are making it difficult to build urgently needed new homes. With the discussion surrounding the Building Energy Act, topics such as climate-friendly heating and sustainable construction are also coming into focus. In addition, the home ownership rate in Germany is at a low level compared to other European countries.
