The Capella Cantorum is a Berlin vocal ensemble that has been in existence since 1981 and is primarily dedicated to the cultivation of sacred music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. After a break of several years, the ensemble is finally back in Mechow!
Under the direction of Prof. Klaus Eichhorn, the current 8-member group performs polyphonic works by the Italian masters Palestrina, Vittoria, Asola and others, complemented by organ music by contemporaries.
Klaus Eichhorn studied church music and harpsichord. He was co-founder of the Musicalische Compagney and founder of the Capella Cantorum. From the 1990s, Klaus Eichhorn taught at the Evangelische Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Halle and was a professor of organ and basso continuo at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen for many years.
Experience a program that is extraordinarily suitable for the 13th century Mechow church and is supported by the fine acoustics of the room.
