Cooperation event between Diên Hông - Gemeinsam unter einem Dach e.V. and the Volkstheater Rostock
Dialogue between the generations is often difficult. This is particularly true in the ethnic German community: migration, cultural change and personal - often unspoken - experiences make mutual understanding a challenge.
This staged reading offers moving insights into the lives of ethnic Germans in Rostock. Questions and answers between parents and adult children shed light on Vietnam at the time, arriving and everyday life in the GDR and experiences in today's Germany. Identity, belonging and racism are addressed as well as generational differences. Last but not least, the strengths and solidarity with which the protagonists face the challenges are discussed.
