Piano concerto

An evening full of poetic sound art and virtuoso fireworks:
The first half of the concert features the ellegant and playful Piano Sonata No. 13 Kv 333 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the very profound and songful Four Impromptus Op. 90 by Franz Schubert - two masterpieces of Viennese Classicism and Romanticism that combine musical depth and lyrical sensitivity.

After the interval, the Etudes tableaux Op. 39 by Sergei Rachmaninoff is a very special work: the last work he composed before the revolution in 1917 and his associated emigration to the USA, which was to change his compositional style forever. The work - literally translated as "Etudes Pictures" - is imbued with poetic soundscapes, an incredible wealth of color and passionate virtuosity.

Toby Olias Brechler, winner of the international Balys Dvarionas Competition 2024 and the Arno Babadschanyan Competition in Armenia, has already performed in major concert halls such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Great Mozart Hall in Hamburg and the Philharmonic Hall in Vilnius.
He is currently studying at the Rostock University of Music and Drama in the class of Lilit Grigoryan. Other influences include masterclasses with Pierre Laurant Aimard and Gintaras Januševicius.
He has also played with orchestras such as the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic, the North German Philharmonic and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
He is currently a scholarship holder of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation.
