BalticProg Vol. II – An Evening of Progressive, Post, and Extreme Metal
On November 20, the Bunker Rostock will once again become the stage for BalticProg—the concert series featuring post-rock, post-metal, and progressive metal on the Baltic Sea coast. Four bands, one evening, countless nuances ranging from atmospheric depth to raw intensity.
Headliner: Bipolar Architecture (Berlin/Istanbul) bring their very own blend of swirling post-rock tension and breathtaking extreme metal. Signed to Pelagic Records, with two studio albums and a third in the works, they’ve long since made a name for themselves—including as the opening act for The Ocean on the “END OF AN EON” tour in front of a sold-out Kesselhaus Berlin and with a performance at the Arctangent Festival in Bristol.
Sheev (Berlin) blend progressive metal, stoner rock, grunge, and psychedelic elements into a technically sophisticated, powerful sound. Fans of Mastodon, Tool, and Opeth will find plenty to enjoy on the albums “Mind Conductor” and “Ate’s Alchemist.”
Sidus (Berlin/Athens) deliver cinematic, instrumental post-rock with heavy guitars and atmospheric soundscapes. Signed to Dunk Records, they’re currently promoting the track “Soul Gazing”—a must-listen for fans of God Is An Astronaut and Russian Circles.
Aglasio (Rostock) will round out the evening as the local heroes. Since 2022, the quartet has been blending progressive metal, post-metal, grunge, and alternative influences into a multi-layered sound that comes across as particularly intense live—most recently and impressively demonstrated on their debut album “Ephemera.”
