Astrophotography without much technology, just a camera and tripod? Speaker Thomas Storch will show you how to do this in his workshop
Anyone who has always wanted to take astrophotographs can now learn how to do so in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park and future Star Park. On Friday, February 20, at 6:30 pm, a photography course will take place in the Karower Meiler. The speaker, Thomas Storch, also known as Sternenstorch, will explain the basics of astrophotography and image processing. He will show how impressive pictures can be taken without much technology, using only a camera and tripod. In the photo course, the basics are explained and image processing is practiced using sample data. Those interested should bring a reflex camera with manual mode, a tripod, a remote shutter release (recommended) and a laptop with an image editing program (e.g. GIMP or Photoshop) and the astrophotography program Siril (freeware, required).
"In the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park and future star park, it is particularly dark at night - perfect for astrophotography," enthuses Marina Kahrmann, project manager of the star park. The 3-hour photography course costs €45. Please register by email to marina.kahrmann@lung.mv-regierung.de. The photography course takes place regardless of the weather.
