KUNST HEUTE 2025 event supported by the Literaturrat MV at the Bernsteinhaus workshop studio in Rostock: Die Frau im Fisch by Anne Cirkola. Painting. Opening & reading on 27.09.25 at 6 pm with musical accompaniment.
Bornholm artist Anne Cirkola presents her latest works: ink paintings on bamboo paper, created in the tradition of Japanese ink art. The exhibition is a painterly dive with women and fish in the forces of waves and tides. It is a powerful journey through water worlds in which women and fish become symbolic protagonists. Hidden in dark swirls of Japanese ink are creatures that embody life as such and do not fear it. Fish and women open up a deep, almost mythical narrative about the relationship between man and nature, about life, its dangers and its beauty. "The woman in the fish" is not just a title, but a state: the woman becomes part of the depths, part of the water, part of life itself. The fish carry her story. They swim together through time, through fears and dreams. Nature appears romanticized as a force that challenges and carries people. Anne Cirkola's works are still and yet full of movement. Her pictures tell not only of the sea, but also of the inner ocean - of the life of the soul, of intuition and of the courage to abandon oneself to the tides.
