On Saturday, September 27, everything revolves around apples at the Dünninghaus garden market.
The Mecklenburg Schweiz and Lake Kummerow Nature Park are organizing an apple day together with the garden market and the Foundation for Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology M-V (StUN). From 12 noon, visitors are invited to find out about old fruit varieties and orchards. Of course, there will also be a variety show and apples to try. If you want, you can also buy a suitable tree. Anyone who has apple trees in their garden but does not know the variety will have the opportunity to have them identified by a pomologist from 3 pm. Please present 3 to 5 good fruits of each variety.
The Satower Mosterei's mobile fruit press will also be on hand from 10 a. m. to press fruit into delicious juice. Before that, however, the apples collected the day before by pupils from Teterow elementary school in the Doktorgarten on Bornmühlenweg will be pressed. The pressing of the juice is sponsored by StUN and provided to the pupils as a snack during the break. Afterwards, anyone can come and have their pressed juice filled into bags of 3 or 5 liters. It is not necessary to register in advance.
So that the wait is not too long, visitors are invited to take part in the nature park's activities. Whether it's the apple race, can throwing or "Painting with Hubi" for young and old - everyone is sure to find something they would like to take part in. The garden market will provide refreshments.
