Despite their separation, Marion (Laura Tonke) and Andi (Moritz Bleibtreu) consider themselves to be model parents and look after their eleven-year-old son Milan (Valentin Thatenhorst) fifty-fifty. However, their summer vacation together in Italy, where Marion's new boyfriend (David Kross) is also present, reveals surprising gaps in their upbringing: Milan is a spoiled only child who deliberately plays his parents off against each other, drinks espresso but doesn't even know how to swim. Time for a new chapter of parental care. Marion and Andi decide to tackle the shortcomings of their upbringing together and become closer again. While Milan experiences his first tender love at the campsite next to the luxury hotel and the parents rediscover each other, the hope of becoming a family again grows...
