"A life can cast shadows over the moon"- A lyrical-musical evening with Susanne Schwan and Simon Bennett
The title of the evening quotes one of the 57 poems by the Jewish girl Selma Meerbaum, which she wrote in the last two years of her life before she died in the Czernowitz concentration camp in 1942.
Selma Meerbaum was only 18 years old.
Her poems are full of courage, tenderness and strength. They tell of longing and love, pure joie de vivre and, in the end, defiant despair.
The poems are memorably recited by actress Susanne Schwan. The lines are accompanied musically by Simon Bennett.
