A reading about life, loss and hope - with moving texts and musical accompaniment
Christiane Wilkening tells unadorned and in clear language about death, loss and grief in the family. Her last story is about trusting the flow of life in the face of one's own finiteness.
Wolfgang Poppelbaum looks back on the passing of his parents and, particularly painfully, on the death of a young woman. He can only express it with words from Büchner's play "Leonce and Lena". This leads to a dense and poetic narrative. In his last story, the author mischievously describes the visit of a commissioner to a diva who sings Mahler. In any case, the music survives.
Dresden cellist Susanne Stanicki will provide the musical backdrop with works by Bach, Schubert, Mahler and others.
A joint event of the City Library and the City History Museum.
