After work with a view: KAYAM is the musical duo of Kim and Mike Rauss. They affectionately call their unique style Falafel Pop - live at the Kulturhafen
Once a month, our Fantasiar Bar at Rostock's city harbor is transformed into the perfect after-work location. A cool drink in your hand, soft live music in your ear and a view of the Warnow - that's how the end of the working day sounds like the sea.
On the first Wednesday of every month, a new act provides the right sound - sometimes relaxed acoustics, sometimes rousing grooves, but always open air and with a breathtaking panorama of the setting sun over the Warnow.
This Wednesday, Kayam will be our guest and bring their live set to our small harbor stage.
KAYAM is the musical duo of siblings Kim and Mike Rauss, who affectionately describe their style as falafel pop - a fusion of the musical genres they love, paired with an almost obsessive passion for chickpeas and a whole lot of heart.
The two grew up across cultures in England, Germany and Israel - an imprint that is clearly reflected in their music and live performances. This early love of travel has had a lasting influence on their style.
Kim sings and plays the Celtic harp, Mike plays guitar, sings, builds loops with guitar percussion and occasional beatboxing.
KAYAM's songs are atmospheric and captivating, leaving room for improvisation on stage and at the same time characterized by a sensitive studio work that makes their music special.
