The play tells the story of Ottla Davidova's life in Prague and her deportation to Theresienstadt. In the ghetto, the youngest sister of the writer Franz Kafka is assigned to look after the children in the orphanage. Events come to a head when Ottla volunteers to accompany a Kindertransport of Jewish Polish children. It is not known whether it was to Sweden or Switzerland. The Jewish camp doctor Felix Hershkovitz tries to dissuade her from the project in order to save her. But Ottla, like her older sisters Gabriele and Valerie, was murdered in a concentration camp.

Later, Ottla's daughter Vera learns about her mother's experiences through Felix Hershkovitz. In addition, Ottla's letters to her two daughters in Prague are direct contemporary testimonies. One thing becomes particularly clear: Ottla's spiritual connection to her brother Franz was omnipresent even during this time of imprisonment.

The one-hour theater performance will be followed by an audience discussion.
