Along the entire network of cycling and hiking trails on the Rügen island of Ummanz you will find picnic stations - also in the picturesque Freesenort.

The village of Freesenort - first mentioned in 1319 - is especially famous for the still existing hall house of the sugar loaf style, the so-called "Hasenburg". After a voyage of discovery through the idyllic village, it is wonderful to relax at the picnic station. Peace and pure nature set the tone here. While you enjoy the delicacies you have brought with you, you can leave everyday life behind and listen to the flora and fauna with all your senses in the middle of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft.

At several planting events in the fall since 2011, guests and residents have been able to talk to foresters and forest campaigners about the climate forests on the Island of Rügen while enjoying children's games, campfires and wild sausages.
