Construction of today's St. Mary's Church probably began at the end of the 13th century. The choir and the lower tower storeys are the oldest parts of the church and are made of fieldstone masonry with some use of bricks. 1337, a note in the town register states that the church is "complete". The nave was built in the second half of the 14th century. The vaulting of the choir took place in the second half of the 15th century and the south porch was built at the end of the 15th century. At the beginning of the 16th century, the window openings were changed and a vaulted chapel room was built in the second northern choir bay in honor of the Holy Spirit. The Röder organ is the oldest organ in Berlin.
