The tour guide and local historian Martin Dostal talks about Rilke's visit to Heiligendamm in 1923.
In 1913, the poet Rainer Maria Rilke accepted an invitation from salonière Helene von Nostiz to visit Heiligendamm. He arrived in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the seaside resort in August and wanted to leave the next morning. But his collegial friend took him to the Spiegelsee in the Kleines Wohld. Rilke succumbed to the evening magic of the forest lake. He stayed and wrote: two poems about the forest and lake.
The tour guide and local chronicler Martin Dostal presents them and tells the story with pictures of Spiegelsee then and now.
